Agreement, parties, and contract documents

Section 1: Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you visit lemondropcleaningco.com, request a quote, book a cleaning, communicate with us about a service, or receive a service arranged through Lemondrop Cleaning Limited Company, which operates under the customer-facing brand Lemondrop Cleaning Co. (collectively, "Lemondrop," "we," "us," or "our").

By booking, paying for, keeping an appointment, electronically accepting these Terms, or receiving a service arranged through Lemondrop, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not book or receive services through Lemondrop.

You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to arrange service at the property.

Contract documents and order of precedence

Your agreement may include these Terms, the booking confirmation, the service-specific checklist, approved written changes, and any promotion agreement you separately accept. They should be read together. If they conflict:

  1. an approved written change controls for the specific change it describes;
  2. an offer-specific promotion agreement controls for that promotion;
  3. the booking confirmation and service checklist control the booked scope, date, and price; and
  4. these Terms control all other matters.

Section 2: Lemondrop's role and Service Professionals

Lemondrop arranges and administers residential and specialty cleaning services through independently operated cleaning providers contracted by Lemondrop. A provider assigned through Lemondrop to perform booked work is called a "Service Professional" in these Terms.

Your service agreement is with Lemondrop. Service Professionals are engaged by Lemondrop, not hired or contracted directly by you, and they are not your employees. Lemondrop manages customer-facing booking, scheduling, payment, communication, quality follow-up, and issue resolution. Service Professionals independently operate their cleaning businesses and perform services subject to their agreements with Lemondrop and applicable law.

This section describes Lemondrop's intended operating model. Legal classification depends on applicable law and the actual working relationship; these Terms do not override either.

Article II

Booking, scope, and service performance

Section 3: Booking information

You may book online, by phone, or through another method Lemondrop makes available. You agree to provide accurate information, including:

  • your name, phone number, and email address;
  • the service address;
  • the property's size and condition;
  • the service type, requested areas, exclusions, and add-ons;
  • access, parking, gate, alarm, and pet instructions; and
  • a valid payment method when required.

Our quote, schedule, staffing, and expected service time rely on the information you provide. Tell us before the appointment if anything changes.

Section 4: Service scope, pricing, and assignments

The work will be based on the service type, add-ons, exclusions, and notes shown in your booking confirmation or otherwise confirmed in writing.

Flat-rate services

Flat-rate prices assume that the property's size, condition, occupancy, pets, and requested scope were described accurately. If the property requires materially more work than reasonably expected, Lemondrop may ask you to approve additional time or cost or to choose which priorities should be completed within the original booking.

Hourly services

Hourly service purchases a set amount of cleaning time. The Service Professional will work through the agreed priorities, but Lemondrop does not guarantee that every requested area or task can be completed within the purchased time. You may approve additional time when scheduling permits.

Changes and additional work

Changes to the service, including added tasks, excluded areas, added time, and price changes, must be approved through Lemondrop. A Service Professional is not authorized to make a separate agreement with you or accept off-platform payment for additional work.

If additional time appears necessary, Lemondrop will try to reach you using the phone number or email on file. If we cannot reach you before the approved time expires, the Service Professional may stop work and continue to the next appointment. No additional charge will be made without your authorization, except for fees already disclosed in these Terms and authorized through the booking process.

Work we do not perform

Unless Lemondrop specifically agrees otherwise in writing, Service Professionals do not use ladders. They also do not:

  • handle blood, bodily fluids, animal or human waste, drug paraphernalia, black mold, or other biohazards;
  • treat active insect, rodent, or other pest infestations;
  • move heavy furniture or major appliances;
  • dispose of large quantities of trash or hazardous material;
  • clean areas that cannot be reached safely; or
  • perform work that requires a license, specialized remediation, or equipment outside the booked service.

A Service Professional may skip an affected area or stop work when a condition is unsafe or outside the agreed scope.

Cleaner assignments

Lemondrop may assign or reassign Service Professionals when needed because of availability, illness, scheduling, quality, safety, or another operational reason. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of a material change when practical, but a booking does not guarantee a specific Service Professional.

Section 5: Cleaning-day preparation, access, utilities, pets, and safety

Quoted cleaning time assumes the Service Professional can reasonably access the surfaces and areas included in the booking. Before the appointment, please pick up clothing, toys, dishes, paperwork, and other items that would block access. Organizing, decluttering, or moving belongings must be booked or approved separately when available.

You are responsible for providing safe and timely access to the property. Before the appointment:

  • provide working door, gate, lockbox, alarm, elevator, and parking instructions;
  • make sure electricity and running water are available;
  • secure pets when needed and tell us about animals, hazards, or special access concerns;
  • remove or identify fragile, irreplaceable, or unusually valuable items;
  • move heavy furniture or appliances before arrival if you want the area behind or underneath cleaned; and
  • make the property reasonably safe for cleaning.

Right to refuse, pause, or stop service

Lemondrop and each Service Professional reserve the right to refuse, pause, limit, reschedule, or stop service when reasonably necessary to protect health, safety, property, or lawful business operations. Examples include weapons, threats, harassment, abusive or inappropriate conduct, disconnected utilities, severe clutter or hoarding conditions, active infestations, biohazards, illegal activity, unsafe structures, uncontrolled animals, or property conditions materially different from the information provided at booking.

A Service Professional may leave immediately if they reasonably feel unsafe or threatened. Lemondrop will try to explain the reason and available next steps when circumstances permit. If service cannot reasonably or safely be performed because of an undisclosed condition, denied access, or another circumstance within the customer's control, the applicable cancellation or lockout fee may be charged. No fee will be imposed solely because Lemondrop or a Service Professional elects not to proceed for a reason outside the customer's control.

Article III

Payment, scheduling, and promotions

Section 6: Required payment method, payment collection, service fees, authorization holds, and charges

Required payment method on file

A valid working credit or debit card or other approved electronic payment method must be kept on file unless Lemondrop agrees otherwise in writing. Lemondrop may collect payment-card information from you and submit it to our third-party payment processor. The payment processor stores the payment method for future authorized charges. Lemondrop does not store your full card number. Receipts are sent to the email address on file.

You authorize Lemondrop and its payment processors to use the payment method you provide for:

  • the booked service, any applicable service fee, and approved add-ons;
  • additional time or scope changes you approve;
  • applicable cancellation, rescheduling, or lockout fees;
  • amounts due under a recurring-service promotion you separately accept in writing; and
  • other charges specifically disclosed and authorized through the booking process.

Keep your billing information current. Lemondrop may postpone or cancel a booking if the required payment method is missing, invalid, expired, declined, or otherwise cannot be authorized.

Temporary card authorization hold

Up to 24 hours before a scheduled service, Lemondrop or its payment processor may request a temporary authorization, generally for the estimated booking total, to confirm that the payment method is valid and funds or credit are available. If the authorization is approved, the customer's bank or card issuer—not Lemondrop—temporarily holds or sets aside the authorized amount. The hold may reduce the customer's available account balance or available credit, but the funds are not transferred to Lemondrop at that time. An authorization hold is not a completed charge.

After service, the authorization may be completed for the final amount or replaced by the final charge. If the appointment is canceled, moved, or not charged, Lemondrop or its processor will void or release the authorization when operationally possible. The customer's bank or card issuer controls when the held funds or credit become available again. Release commonly takes several business days and may take longer depending on the financial institution. Lemondrop cannot accelerate or guarantee the issuer's release timing.

If an authorization fails, Lemondrop may contact you to update the payment method and may postpone or cancel service if a valid authorization is not obtained. A failed hold itself is not an additional fee.

Lemondrop charges a service fee in addition to the cleaning-service price. The service fee will be disclosed before checkout and may be charged to the payment method on file.

Section 7: Cancellation, rescheduling, and lockout fees

Please give us as much notice as possible if your plans change.

Unless Lemondrop approves an exception because of an emergency or another circumstance:

  • Cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice: $75 fee.
  • Rescheduling with less than 24 hours' notice: $50 fee.
  • Lockout: A fee equal to the greater of $100 or 50% of the service price for that appointment if the Service Professional cannot access the property at the scheduled time and no workable access arrangement is available.

These fees compensate for reserved time and lost work opportunities. Approved exceptions are at Lemondrop's discretion and will be confirmed in writing.

Section 8: Recurring-service promotions

Lemondrop may offer promotional pricing that is conditioned on completing a stated number of recurring services. A promotion applies only when Lemondrop provides it to you in writing and you separately accept the offer-specific terms.

The written promotion agreement or booking confirmation will identify, as applicable:

  • the regular price and promotional price;
  • the discount received;
  • the required number and frequency of recurring services;
  • excluded services or add-ons;
  • how skips, cancellations, and rescheduling are treated; and
  • the amount, if any, that may be charged if the commitment is not completed.

If you accept a promotion and do not complete its stated commitment, you authorize Lemondrop to charge the payment method on file only as described in the offer-specific agreement you accepted. The specific written offer controls over this general section. A public description of a promotion is not a promise that the offer is available to every customer.

Article IV

Quality, property, and service records

Section 9: Service concerns and re-clean policy

When possible, inspect the work before the Service Professional leaves. If something within the agreed scope was missed, contact Lemondrop as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours after service. Include photos of the affected areas when practical.

For a qualifying concern reported within that period, Lemondrop may arrange a return visit to re-clean the missed areas or provide another proportionate resolution. Access must be provided for an approved re-clean at a time Lemondrop reasonably offers. A re-clean does not include new work, added areas, or conditions outside the original booking.

Concerns reported more than 24 hours after service may not qualify because the condition of the property can change after the Service Professional leaves. Hourly services are based on time purchased and do not guarantee that every requested task will be completed; however, we will still review concerns about the quality of work actually performed.

Payments for completed cleaning services are generally non-refundable. An approved re-clean or other proportionate remedy is ordinarily the available resolution. Cancellation, rescheduling, and lockout fees are non-refundable unless Lemondrop approves an exception.

Section 10: Property concerns, valuables, and delicate surfaces

Tell Lemondrop promptly about suspected damage, breakage, missing property, or another concern connected with a service. Preserve relevant photos, video, receipts, or other information that may help with review.

Before service, secure cash, jewelry, prescription medication, firearms, important documents, and items with high monetary or sentimental value. Identify delicate, damaged, loose, improperly installed, or irreplaceable items that require special care.

Unless you tell us otherwise before service, common household surfaces are assumed to be properly installed, stable, and sealed for normal cleaning. Lemondrop and a Service Professional are not responsible for damage caused by pre-existing wear, deterioration, loose fixtures, improper installation or assembly, manufacturer defects, or an unsealed or unsuitable surface, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.

If you request a specific cleaning product, Lemondrop may ask you to provide it. Use of a client-provided product or appliance is subject to its condition and instructions, and Lemondrop may decline to use it if it appears unsafe or unsuitable.

Lemondrop may share a concern with the Service Professional, review available documentation, and coordinate the response. Nothing in this section eliminates responsibility that Lemondrop or a Service Professional has under applicable law.

Section 11: Photos and service documentation

Lemondrop or a Service Professional may take photos or videos for internal service records, quality assurance, condition documentation, damage review, or proof of completion.

We will not publicly share images that identify you, your address, people in the home, private documents, or personal information without permission. If we want to use before-and-after images for marketing, we will request permission first.

Article V

Independently operated Service Professionals and off-platform activity

Section 12: Direct hiring and off-platform booking

You agree not to directly hire, schedule, or pay a Service Professional introduced through Lemondrop outside Lemondrop's booking process during your relationship with Lemondrop and for nine (9) months after your last Lemondrop service, unless Lemondrop gives written permission.

If you violate this section, you agree to pay Lemondrop a $5,000 finder's fee, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Section 13: Provider screening and background checks

Lemondrop may interview, screen, or review Service Professionals according to its internal standards. If you request confirmation of a background check for a Service Professional, Lemondrop may provide an attestation that a check was completed when legally appropriate. Lemondrop does not provide the full background-check report to clients.

You agree to comply with applicable laws concerning background checks, consumer reports, and decisions based on that information.

Article VI

Communications, privacy, and website use

Section 14: Calls, text messages, and email

By giving us your phone number or email address, you agree that Lemondrop may contact you about quotes, bookings, appointment reminders, access, service updates, payments, customer support, and related business matters.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out of automated text messages by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP, email [email protected], or call (816) 300-3388. Opting out of automated messages does not prevent us from contacting you when needed to perform a service you requested, where permitted by law.

Text-message consent and opt-in information will not be sold or shared with third parties for their unrelated marketing.

Section 15: Privacy

We may share information with Service Professionals, payment processors, scheduling and communication platforms, and other vendors when reasonably needed to provide services, process payments, communicate with you, operate the business, prevent fraud, or comply with law.

Our separate Privacy Policy provides additional information about how personal information is handled.

Section 16: Website use and intellectual property

You may not use the website or services for an unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or disruptive purpose. You may not interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, or misuse Lemondrop's systems, content, name, logo, or communications.

Website text, images, logos, graphics, layout, and other content belong to Lemondrop or its licensors and are protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce or distribute them without permission except as allowed by law.

Section 17: Health and safety

In-home services involve ordinary health, safety, property-access, and interpersonal risks. You agree to take reasonable steps to protect household members, guests, pets, Service Professionals, and property during the appointment.

Tell Lemondrop before the appointment about a contagious illness or another condition that may make service unsafe. Lemondrop or the Service Professional may modify or reschedule service when reasonably necessary for safety.

Article VII

Liability, disputes, suspension, and termination

Section 18: Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lemondrop will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lemondrop's total liability for a claim related to a website visit, booking, or service will not exceed the amount paid for the service giving rise to the claim.

Some laws do not allow certain liability limitations, so some or all of this section may not apply to you.

Section 19: Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lemondrop, its owners, employees, contractors, agents, representatives, and Service Professionals from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable attorney's fees arising from:

  • inaccurate or incomplete information you provide;
  • unsafe property conditions or failure to provide access;
  • your violation of these Terms or applicable law; or
  • unauthorized direct hiring or off-platform booking of a Service Professional.

Section 20: Payment disputes and chargebacks

If you have a concern about a charge, contact Lemondrop first so we can review it and try to resolve the issue.

You remain responsible for valid charges for services, approved changes, and disclosed fees. If a chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or made in bad faith, Lemondrop may pursue the unpaid amount and any costs or remedies allowed by law.

Section 21: Right to terminate the service relationship

You may stop using Lemondrop's services at any time, subject to fees, payment obligations, or written promotional commitments that already apply to an existing booking.

Lemondrop may decline future bookings or suspend or terminate a service relationship when reasonably necessary because of nonpayment, an invalid payment method, failed authorization, unsafe or unsanitary conditions, threats, harassment, abusive or inappropriate conduct, repeated access problems, material misrepresentation about the property or requested work, suspected fraud, repeated policy violations, or another material breach of these Terms.

When practical, Lemondrop will provide notice by text message and/or email to the contact information on file. Lemondrop may act immediately and without advance notice when necessary to protect a person or property, respond to suspected fraud or unlawful activity, or prevent material harm. Ending the relationship does not cancel amounts already due or obligations that accrued before termination.

Article VIII

Acceptance, changes, governing law, and contact

Section 22: Electronic acceptance and records

These Terms may be accepted electronically. Booking, clicking to accept, signing electronically, paying, keeping an appointment, or receiving services may constitute acceptance to the extent permitted by law. Electronic signatures and records have the same effect as originals where permitted by law.

Section 23: Changes to these terms

Lemondrop may update these Terms. The current version will be posted on the website with an updated effective date. Changes apply prospectively when posted unless a different date is stated or applicable law requires otherwise.

The terms in effect when you book generally apply to that booking. Your continued use of the website or services after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Section 24: Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any legal action concerning these Terms, the website, a booking, or services must be brought in the state or federal courts located in or serving Riley County, Kansas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
